A thank you to those no longer with us

I spent my early childhood years living in Navy housingmemorial_day on Yerba Buena Island. Sandwiched between Oakland and San Francisco, I woke up every morning to a breathtaking view of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and the San Francisco skyline.

I fondly remember brisk fogged mornings of presenting the colors with my father, a Navy Lieutenant, and the quiet evenings folding the flag into a tightly packed triangle. The pledge of allegiance was always spoken followed by a straight wrist salute.

Although I didn’t realize it as a child, those moments would stay with me for the rest of my life.

Every Memorial Day we take a day off of to go to the lake, spend time with family, or kick-off the summer with some fun in the sun. But that’s hardly the reason we’re given this day off. Memorial Day is a time where we remember those who have died for our nation. While we all enjoy this day of freedom from work, or school, or whatever else normally manages your time, let us not forget those who have given their lives so we could enjoy this day.

America is a diverse nation; no matter your religious beliefs, no matter your background, no matter your political allegiance, we can all agree that we have a freedom that many other countries do not give their citizens. This freedom that we enjoy is greatly due to the unselfish nature of our service men and women.

Whenever I pass a military person in uniform, I stop to say thank you. I’d like to think that it wasn’t just my Navy upbringing that made me this way, but the pride in my country and my sincere gratefulness for its citizens who wake up every morning, present the colors, give a straight wrist salute, and go about their day prepared to do anything for our freedom.

To all the service men and women who gave their lives so I could live my dream, thank you.  To all the Evolvers out there, have a happy and safe Memorial Day.

I’d like to say a special thank you to Navy SEAL Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy, who sacrificed his life in order to contact headquarters to bring his unit the proper back-up they needed. Although I never knew him, the story of his unselfish sacrifice for our country truly resonates with me and I am reminded of his bravery and courage with a simple metal bracelet my father sent me. If you would like to remember one of the fallen, please comment on this post.

How to leverage Memorial Day for your Evolv business

Evolv Master Distributor Jim Lutes passed on these words of advice on how to make the most of your Memorial Day weekend.

“Here we are…A welcomed Holiday. For some a break from everything, for the Evolver… an opportunity. As we all move into Memorial Day weekend, many successful Evolvers are excited about all the people they will be coming in contact with. The lake, the beaches, the get togethers. You have heard me say many times you will develop a ” radar” for opportunity. You recognized the Evolv opportunity and now its time to again recognize the incredible sutuations the weekend will present you with to expose the Evolv product and business to many people.

“Everywhere you go, let them see you drinking Evolv. Stock up the ice chests. Load the cases into the car. Its promo time!

“You can strike up a business conversation by saying you are involved with a company that will allow you to become free all the time, not just holidays. Set aside some reflection time as well. Login to your back office and look around, let the dreams begin. Make that vision board that keeps you reminded of why you are in Evolv. Reflect on your blessings, take an inventory of your dreams and know that with some dedication this time next year your entire life can be different. So…Write down a number of new people that you will be exposing to Evolv this weekend, make it fun and set it high. With Evolv, combined with your dreams and goals, you truly can paint your own Life Masterpiece.”

Principal Executives Patrick & Cheryl Alexander of Tyrone, GA

PatrickCherylAlexander

“We have each been drinking at least four bottles per day for the last eight weeks. Our son and daughter are also consuming Evolv regularly. Needless to say, we are ordering extra cases well before our autoship has been placed. The benefits have been many. The first thing we and our team members noticed was that we were resting more peacefully at night. Our energy level has truly increased so much so that one of our team members was up until 2:00 am after having attended a PER and drinking a bottle of Evolv. All of the benefits we have received from Evolv we noticed the same day we consumed it. People we have shared Evolv with all rave about the clean taste and how they can instantly tell a difference in the taste from the bottled water they normally drink.” read more…

Gilliam & Gilliam Announce Acquisition

Company Pronounces “This is our Last Deal.”

AUSTIN, TX– (BUSINESS WIRE)—May 15, 2010—In the midst of global recession, Gilliam & Gilliam LP (G&G) again blazes a new trail, announcing today its latest ambitious acquisition. The new entity, known as Eden Corporation (NASDAQ: BABY), will be led by its founder, Eden Kristine Gilliam.

“After a full day of negotiations, we were able to push this deal through quickly.” said Jonathan Gilliam, Motivation Specialist at parent firm G&G. “Once agreed to by all parties, it came through in record time.”

“I am so excited I think I’m going to throw up,” stated Eden Gilliam, 7 days old.

Product delivered on schedule.

The agreement was finalized at 10:20pm on May 15, 2010. Weighing in at 7.3 lbs and 20 inches, G&G expects a lot of noise in the market.

Gilliam continued, “Our Managing Partner Leanna Gilliam (aka ‘The Boss’) once again gets the credit for this project. We couldn’t be more pleased with this incredible product.”

Last of three deals

Following the resounding success of first merger at G&G with Anabelle, Inc. and the subsequent spin-out of AvaLee Enterprises, this latest transaction was a surprise to all parties.

“There was a lot of hair on this deal, but we immediately welcomed Eden Corp to the Gilliam family…of companies.”

Having completed the last corporate transaction more than 5 years ago, Management admits it is a bit out of practice and has asked the newly acquired entity for maintenance instructions, however Eden Corp. has refused to provide any assistance. “A how-to manual was not part of the deal,” said Eden.

Competitive Concerns

“The disruption of our current business model had us concerned,” stated Anabelle and Ava Gilliam, 8 and 5 respectively. “This transaction will however provide much more leverage for the sister companies, as Management is now outnumbered.”

Eden Gilliam responded with a cute giggle. “The first two deals they did paved the way for me – this should be a cake walk.” she said. “My business model has always been disruptive; no one should doubt my ability to shake things up around here.”

She then cried.

For their part, Anabelle Inc. and Ava Lee Enterprises agreed to minimize organizational infighting and share resources as needed. They will return to their primary roles at the firm, Household Object Resilience Testing Engineers, a role that appears to focus on mainly on expensive glassware and fine china.

Deal valuation

Analysts valued the deal at Priceless. In an unusual move, the parties have drawn up no paperwork and will commence the agreement with nothing more than a finger shake, coupled with the standard spit-up clause. When asked about the risky move, Eden said “I didn’t see anyone else sticking their own foot in a pad of wet ink.”

While very optimistic about prospects of the new endeavor, Management has made a final decision about its future. “Sometimes you need to just make a cut or two to protect against further production,” said Managing Partner Leanna Gilliam, an opinion that did not sit comfortably with her partner. Most industry experts agree that a painful cut is not always the most pleasant to implement.

“Yes it seems as if our space is way too crowded now,” Said Gilliam. “But there’s no question — this is the deal of lifetime.”

Never one to miss a photo-op, Eden Kristine Gilliam (age in photo: 35 minutes) takes time to welcome her new partners the combined Gilliam entities. Said Eden, “I’m gonna make them sooooooo happy.”

The Memorial Day weekend is right around the corner. How much time and planning do we usually put into this annual three day weekend? Are you planning a nice family barbeque for the weekend?  Or maybe a nice scenic drive?

Most people spend more time and energy planning their weekends than they do planning their lives!  All this means is that we have a tremendous opportunity.  What if it were possible to evolve your financial destiny in the days ahead ?  Before you take off for Memorial Day, we invite you to drive your business and go all out for the next three days!

  • DRIVE from ZERO to 6! Drive this promotion through your organization!  Drive to the finish line! How can you have the best possible chance of winning? Keep giving quad packs away every day to your friends, family and co-workers; people you run into at the gym, grocery store or dry-cleaners. Invite at least 5 people a day to Give.Share.Evolv! And remember, the fortune is in the follow-up.  So after you give them a quad-pack, make sure to follow up with a three-way call to your upline and now to the Evolv Your Business 24 hour invitation from Trey (507-726-3821)! Create your activity now and invite them to join you at the June Regional Events.  You still have an opportunity to win a luxury weekend at Trey’s condo in Cabo – how would that be for a three day weekend?  Or how about an all-inclusive Bahamas vacation?  Can you taste the Pina Colada yet? You could also win a bucket of cash!  Wouldn’t it be great if the winner was YOU . . . or someone in YOUR organization?!  All you have to do is bring in 6 people at the Executive Pack or greater and on a 2-case minimum auto-ship and you are in the running!
  • Get your jacket! The most exclusive club withinjackets-300x200 Evolv is the Founding Directors Club!  You still have three days to become one of the first members of the FDC.  Generations from now, you will be able to talk to your grandchildren about what it was like to be at the beginning.  Remember, there’s only one beginning.  You still have three days to get your jacket!  Additionally, you will get information before anyone else gets it, exclusive seating and events and beautiful business cards created just for you!

What great ways to invest three-days from now until the three-day weekend!
