Peer Reviewed Study of elevATP™, the Active Ingredient in Evolv ActivateATP
Dallas, TX, May 30, 2013 — EvolvHealth has announced the release of a recent study on the effects of elevATP™ on blood ATP levels, published by The Journal of Aging Research and Clinical Practice. ElevATP is the active ingredient in Evolv ActivateATP, a plant-based energy boosting beverage.

The study monitored the effect of a single encapsulated dose of 150 mg of elevATP™ or placebo on 18 healthy fasting subjects. Mitochondria are the primary energy generating organelles of the cell, producing Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) through a chain of enzyme complexes. During the process of aging, intracellular ATP decreases and the ability to generate ATP is diminished. The results of this study definitively show that elevATP™ significantly increased blood ATP levels with respect to the baseline, and versus the placebo, which had no effect.

In designing the Evolv Shake, we pay very close attention to all the components of the shake. We were committed to developing the best tasting, most nutritionally sound shake for the best price on the market and that’s what we’ve done. One of the critical components of the development was to use natural sweeteners that were in the low glycemic range to offset any negative impacts on blood sugar. There are many shakes on the market that advocate zero sugar or only one gram of sugar, well this is an indicator that an artificial sweetener like sucralose or Splenda is being used. Often diabetics are attracted to this type of marketing, however, this latest study further validates what many wellness based health practitioners know, artificial sweeteners do impact the body including blood sugar and insulin.
Researchers analyzed the sweetener sucralose (Spelnda R) in 17 severely obese people who do not have diabetes and do not sue artificial sweeteners regularly. As quoted by M. Yanina Pepino, PhD, part of the research team, “Our results indicate that this artificial sweetener is not inert – It does have an effect. We need to do more studies to determine whether this observation means long-term use could be harmful. When study participants drank sucralose, their blood sugar peaked at a higher level than when they drank only water before consuming glucose. Insulin levels also rose about 20 percent higher. So the artificial sweetener was related to an enhanced blood insulin and glucose response.”
